Join us at Bitner Vineyards for Wine on the rocks (and soils).

Walt Snyder (Emeritus Professor) and David Wilkins (Assoc. Professor) from the Department of Geosciences at Boise State will give an informal talk on our deck about the underlying geology, soils, and climate that make SW Idaho an excellent place for wine grapes.  

Walt is a sedimentologist and will talk about the deeper geologic history of Lake Idaho.  David is a geomorphologist who will discuss how that geology and more recent geologic activity contribute to the terroir that defines Idaho wine.
