Established in 1981, family-run Bitner Vineyards is home to some of the oldest blocks currently in production in the region. Their initial plantings of Riesling and Chardonnay have since grown to include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Syrah, and Viognier.  Their fifteen acres of premium vinifera wine grapes flourish along the beautiful Snake River Valley in scenic Southwest Idaho.

Owners Ron and Mary Bitner have dedicated from the start to helping build up the wine-growing community in Idaho and are proud to be a part of the new frontier of Idaho wine. They are devoted not only to creating award-winning wines, but to promoting sustainable and socially conscious practices.

Drawing on Ron’s background as a scientist, Bitner Vineyards take a scientific and forward-thinking approach to their work, priding themselves on being Sustainably Grown, Patiently Crafted, and Innovatively Driven. Click here to learn more.

Excellent wine with a view

Whilst visiting family in the area, we stopped by for a drink. The sun was high, the view was grand, but best of all the award winning Gold medal Cabernet was most excellent. Well done, Ron and Mary. Congrats.

Incredible weekend

We came up to Snake River Wine country with another couple for the first time. It was dark when we arrived and the Bitners were very friendly and accomodating. They are both a pleasure and very interesting to speak with. It was great fun to go around to the wineries and taste many. The Bitners wine is great and there can’t be many that know more about these wines than Ron.

But what I must mention is the view. You are on hill above the sloping Vinyards, that looks out over the Snake River Plain. When my wife came out in the morning she literally gasped at the view over the Vineyards. You can sit for hours enjoying this view and drinking their wine, as we did.

Fabulous Views

We had the pleasure of meeting Ron Bitner and do wine tasting. It was a fantastic experience plus the views are breathtaking. We so enjoyed ourselves. He explained each wine and especially liked the names of his wine (after his grandchildren.) So cool. The wine was so full of flavor, we purchased four bottles. We will definitely make this a stop when we are in this area.
